The Irish American Friendship PinThe Irish American Friendship Pin was commissioned by the Crafts Council of Ireland to commemorate the long standing US/Irish relationship and also to represent the Council's sympathy with the tragic events of September 11th.

The little pin features the wide wings of the American Eagle and a decorated Irish Harp, symbolising the friendship existing between our two countries. The Irish American Friendship pin is available in Sterling silver and oxidised Sterling silver (gunmetal grey colour).

The original was designed and handcrafted by Jane Huston, respected designer and trainer, with the help of the Crafts Council's Jewellery Course trainees in Kilkenny. A percentage of the profits from the sale of this Sterling silver pin will be donated to help the Crafts Council Jewellery Trainees continue their studies for specialist traning. A further percentage will be donated to the New York September 11th Fund.

Each pin measures about .5 of an inch and is individually boxed in a small cardboard matchbox. The Irish American pin also comes with a card, explaining the origin of this pin, what is symbolises and how the proceeds are used. Made in Kilkenny, Ireland.

Saint Patrick CD"Ego Patricius Peccator - I am Patrick, a sinner ..."

This multimedia CD describes the story of the life of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The story of St. Patrick is told through music, narrative description and a virtual tour of Irish sites important to St. Patrick.

Walk in the footsteps of St. Patrick's adopted home by visiting:

* Saul - where Patrick lived as a slave
* Slane - where the first Christian fire was lit
* Armagh - the site of the first Cathedral
* Cashel - where Aongus was baptised
* Lough Derg - Patrick's retreat
* Croagh Patrick - a mountain pilgrimage in Mayo
* Down Patrick - the site of Patrick's grave.

This CD is an ideal educational tool to give an introduction to the life of St. Patrick and the work he did in bringing Christianity to Ireland. The images are real images of Ireland and are created in iPIX, allowing you rotate and zoom in on items, bringing the story of Saint Patrick to life before your eyes.

Check out our Festivals in Ireland page to see what's on during 2002. If your group or organisation has an event you would like to see added just drop us an email with the details and we will add them to the list.

Our Irish Shop aims to bring to you the very best from Ireland. Each 'department' in our Irish Shop offers a wide range of high quality Irish products direct to you from Ireland. Those of you reading this may also have British ancestry too. For this reason we have added an English, Scottish and Welsh Shop.

There is a huge amount of interest worldwide in tracing Irish Ancestry and our Ancestry section will guide those undertaking family research both here in Ireland and in North America, with a little bit of information from Australia and New Zealand. The Irish Ancestry 'department' also offers resources from many other countries, particularly other European countries.

We publish a monthly newsletter with tidbits of news from Ireland, and from the West of Ireland in particular with what's-on guides in the western region. The newsletter will offer updates on new products as we add them to the 'store'.

Those of you with an interest in Ireland might enjoy a quick visit to our sister site - Moytura.com where you can journey with Mary through some of her favourite places in the West of Ireland and to other places she enjoys visiting a little further afield. Or perhaps relax a while on her Reflections pages or maybe even visit the Circle of Prayer where people all over the world, and from every denonimation (and none), join together to pray for and with each other every day!.

Bon Voyage, Please Drop a Comment into our Guestbook - and Don't Forget.......!
