James Joyce, 7 Eccles Street Dublin

James JoyceIt was from this door that Leopold Bloom set out for his famous Bloomsday walk across Dublin. The door is early Georgian and the fanlight design is somewhat simpler than later styles. The door is now in the James Joyce Museum.
 

Bram Stoker, 30 Kildare Street, Dublin

Bram StokerMost famous for his literary creation "Dracula", Stoker wrote some eighteen novels. He was also a critic and a theatre manager. It was during his period as a critic he moved to Kildare Street. The simple lines of this door represent one of the most popular designs of the period.

Oscar Wilde, 21 Westland Row, Dublin

Oscar WildeBorn in this house, WIlde studied at Trinity College. There he was a contemporary of Edward Carson who was later prosecuting council at Wilde's famous trial. As well as being a poet and playwright, Wilde was a notorious wit. He died in exile in 1900.

W. B. Yeats, 82 Merrion Square, Dublin

W. B. YeatsYeats moved to this house when he was elected to the Senate of the Irish Free State. A founding member of the Abbey Theatre, he is one of Irelands greatest poets. Yeats is buried in the small churchyard of Drumcliffe in his beloved Sligo.
