name is Mick Maguire and I am the local Sergeant in Ballykettle for over
twenty five years, and my father was the Sergeant here before me. The Maguires
have been keeping law and order in Ballykettle nigh on seventy years.
are honoured to have found the oldest and most famous pub in Ballykettle.
Generations of Byrnes have served this community well since the old days
when we were the only watering hole for miles around.
Keogh is the name and I don't mind admitting I'm ambitious and determined
to be rich and successful. I'm in the building trade all my life and indeed
my ancestors have built nearly every house in this village.
many a year now I've been running this B&B all on my own since my poor
Paddy passed away. I have all kinds of visitors coming to stay and with
the reputation I have for cooking and running a good house.

I have held that proud position of great trust and integrity for nearly
twenty years now, having taken over from my poor Aunt Josie who had the

man, what with looking after all the electric and plumbing needs of the
village not to mention my involvement with training the local football
team ... and Katie O'Brien!

thanks to me that we have such a peaceful and loving community here in
Ballykettle. It's a well known fact that when left to their own devices
there's no telling what devilment people will get up to, including regular
visits to the local pubs ...

The hardest working honest men in the village, who like to stop and relax
with a few drinks after a days work, frequent it. Fr. Jack is a regular
visitor to this establishment, sure he likes to keep a close eye on the
name is Brendan MacNamara and I am the local schoolteacher here in Ballykettle.
This is the Schoolhouse and it's here we have been turning out Ballykettle's
finest for over a hundred years. Some of our past pupils have done very
well for themselves ... but nothing had prepared me for young Philip Daly...
my name is Peggy Daly and I must tell you about my son Phillip, he's a
little angel. What an adorable child and so well mannered! He really is
my pride and joy. My little cottage has been in my family for years and
the Dalys lived in Ballykettle long before the MacNamaras.
