Irish Celtic Slate
The slate used to make these clocks comes from Durrow, Co.Waterford, one of the oldest quarries in Ireland, which can be dated to the 18th Century.

As with some wine - the older it gets the better the texture and color. This Slate is the oldest! Each piece is hand made. Sizes and colors may vary slightly.

The following pieces of slate have been salvaged from one of the fast disappearing derelict old cottage ruins dotted around Ireland. Craftsmen have spent many long hours selecting and restoring the most suitable pieces to finish these in the craft decoupage to make them a lasting and pleasing decoration.
